Wheelen Discovers 1950s Rialto Trailers

     Kevin Wheelen of Great Britain made an interesting discovery while cataloguing a portion of his collection of 35mm daters and announcements, a trailer praising the opening of the "New Rialto".  After finding the rare clip, Mr. Wheelen contacted the Morrilton Chamber of Commerce and asked for information on the Rialto.  After being forwarded to Bill Stacks, president of the Arts Council of Conway County, Mr. Wheelen told the story of how he came across the announcement and sent screen caps (seen below) of the slides. It is believed that he announcement was produced around 1952 when the United Theatres Corporation closed the Rialto to make major renovations.  At that time the Rialto was praised as one of Central Arkansas' finest theatres.  The Rialto Theatre thanks Mr. Wheelen for sharing these great pictures!
