RIALTO CONCERT SERIES BEGINS FEBRUARY 15TH

The 2008 Concert Series at the Rialto Community Arts Center in Morrilton begins 7:00 PM Friday, February 15th, with a performance by Rockabilly music legend Sonny Burgess and the Pacers and Charlie Rich, Jr., vocalist and pianist. Rich served as leader of his famous father's band, and is a very fine musician in his own right. He has traveled and performed all over the world with the likes of The Eagles, Freddy Fender and others. A native Arkansan, Rich now lives in Nashville, Tennessee. Sonny Burgess and his Pacers are legends in Rockabilly music. They were discovered by Elvis Presley in 1955, when he performed with them in their hometown of Newport, Arkansas. This led Burgess and his band to a recording contract with Sun Records in Memphis in 1956, and the rest is history. They still bring their distinctive style of music to fans all over the world. Last year, they entertained large crowds in Spain, the United Kingdom, Holland, and Canada, and in November, Sonny Burgess and the Pacers were inducted into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame. In 2008, the band will travel to Clear Lake, Iowa , where they have been invited to play at the annual Buddy Holly Tribute Show, then will perform on tour in the United Kingdom and in Japan. Tickets to the February 15th Concert are only $10 each and will go sale at the door the evening of the concert.
